Why ship names sound the way they do
Real fleets follow conventions. Cargo and container ships take the prefix MV (motor vessel) or SS (steam ship) and usually a place, an animal or a virtue. Cruise ships go for abstract nouns and a line name. Naval ships take HMS plus an adjective or a noun with weight. Sailing ships and yachts go shorter, often a woman name or a two-word phrase.
The generator follows those patterns, so the names read like something that would actually be painted on a hull, not random words stuck together.
